Since the 1960s, Holstein horses have been the main focus of our family. In the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog in Süderdithmarschen, we run a renowned breeding stable in the third generation, which also includes our own Holstein show jumping horse breeding.
We have never been dogmatic in the selection of our broodmares and matings. On the contrary. For us, the respective quality of the horse has always been decisive for its use in breeding and how it presents itself in terms of conformation, disposition and performance and how it is later inherited. Therefore we use different mare lines in breeding, such as currently e.g. 104A, 242, 504, 628B, 1446, 1571, 1986, 2067, 6075, 6928, 7299 and 8749.
Our maxim to use only the best horses for breeding and to constantly deal with the quality of our bred horses is an important part of our breeding success.

Close care by our vet from insemination to rearing ensures that your horse from the Krohn stable will grow up as healthily as possible.
CORRECT ANIMAL HOUSING
In summer, the extensive marsh pastures located on the fresh North Sea coast and safely fenced in with wood offer the best air conditions for a species-appropriate and healthy grazing season. Of course, we check our pastures carefully every day with regard to the health of the horses, electricity and water supply.
During the stable season, we have two exercise halls integrated into the courtyard, as well as outdoor paddocks with joint-friendly mud flats, through which we ensure daily exercise. During this time, our broodmares are housed directly on the farm in our modern and well-kept stables. In addition to individual boxes, we have very spacious, video-monitored foaling boxes. Due to the advancing digitalization in our stable, we have also the 24-hour birth announcement. Combined with the almost daily presence of our long-term farm veterinarian Dr. Toralf Didik, we make an important contribution to minimizing risks for mares and foals.
Of course, regular hoof, coat and mane care is also part of our day-to-day routine to ensure that our horses have a good start in life and are permanently in the best of physical and mental health.
A sufficient supply of top quality feed also plays an important role here. First-class feed is therefore a matter of course for us. That is why we only supply our broodmares in the Krohn stable with oats, concentrated feed, roots and high-quality hay and straw that we have produced ourselves.
OUR CLAIM
In the past, the selection of mares for our breeding was an important basis for the breeding progress in the Krohn stable. We will therefore continue to focus on a far-sighted selection of our mares in the future, through which we have been able to achieve outstanding breeding and sporting successes.
