Raising Holstein horses in Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog in Dithmarschen
MARSH PASTURES AT THE NORTH SEA
Directly behind the dike in Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog in Dithmarschen, you will find the rearing farm Krohn. On this modern facility the team takes care of the professional rearing of your horse. We care for foals, weaners and horses of riding age. Our young horses grow up in herds all year round. In summer we have generous marsh pastures available for this. Through careful pasture care, we ensure nutritious grass, which is more than available for every horse through our herd planning. Our routine includes checking your horse on a daily basis as well as the water and power supply for all of our pastures.
Modern stable concept optimized for rearing
In the winter months, our rearing horses are in our clean, modern and well-maintained boxes. Our stable concept is specially designed for the rearing of young horses. The spacious running boxes offer enough space so that the horses can grow up in age-appropriate associations and are socialized accordingly. In order to ensure daily and mud-free exercise even in the cold season, we have expanded our facility with paddock areas and two exercise halls.
Mud-free movement possibilities in winter
In our larger movement hall, with joint-gentle mudflat flooring, we can present your horse to customers and you in free running or free jumping if required. This has proven to be a real added value in marketing our rearing horses. The adjoining casino is often a meeting point for many stimulating discussions.
Roughage from own harvest
We pay special attention to providing our horses with sufficient feed of the best quality. In addition to oats, concentrated feed and feeds of high moisture content, we rely on our own harvest for the supply of roughage in the form of hay and straw. In this way we can ensure the highest standards of feed quality and healthy nutrition for our horses.
